Suddenly, fall is upon us! I can’t think of anyone I have come across who isn’t stunned by the beauty of the fall foliage. Enjoy it every day, because those leaves, they will be falling. Nature is in her element in this transition. We all know what’s coming. Different from the past few years, we are enjoying our freedoms – to visit stores, restaurants, beauty salons, with or without a mask. How great is that?
Things slow down a bit around here during the fall and winter months. Yet, there is always something going on. All of the usuals are available: bingo on Saturdays and the Legion, Mondays you can still play poker at Moonlite Bay, there are meat raffles a plenty at the legion on Tuesday, the Fifty Lakes municipal bar on Thursdays, and 14 Lakes Brewery on Sundays.
New adventures: the play “You Can’t Take it With You,” is playing at Pequot Lakes October 7-9, and 14-15. On Friday, October 28th at Cragun’s – there is a campground and cabin show. The annual Brewfest at Grandview Lodge is open for reservations – it will be held the weekend before Thanksgiving. Consider taking in a Minnesota Loon hockey game at the Breezy Point arena. In the meantime, wash up your winter wear, and pack away those shorts. It’s time to get cozy!
